The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

and i succeeded at getting an artist alley table at sakura-con in seattle! if you are planning on going next year, don't forget to stop by and say hi and maybe pick up something!

also, i have been quiet on uploading stuff lately cuz i've been spending all my free time animating something very special for you all! there might be a hint about what it is on my tumblr... just sayin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is great to hear! I'm glad you are finally getting the confidence to go out and show your stuff at a con (its seems FAR overdue imo) and so great to see that you are taking the next step in finally doing a little self-promotion of your own work (and maybe even making some money!) And with all the cons out there, an anime con is by far the best choice for you to approach a set audience of goers who will no doubt gravitate to your work and style in a heartbeat. Not only can it introduce more people to your work and make you some new fans, but it’s a great place to meet fellow artists in the same boat and build contacts and work for hire. I hope you make some promotional give always with contact info on them, I recall how in cons people will scan tables looking for art of interest, then grab a card... and then far after the con I'm still getting new watchers/commission works by people who found me from those promo cards. Also congrats to channel-square as you both seem to be working towards your goals and funny enough I faved a DD the other day to discover it was her work haha, small world. Well good luck man and keep it up! Be sure to write a recap too I always like to read about cons from the other perspective of the table

yes she got a DD and it is her most popular work yet i dont think she'll have any trouble selling her prints there. i am excited to do this but i have a lot of work to do now. should be lots of fun and i cant wait. and i will definitely write about it when it's all over. sakura con is pretty big
