Lighthouse Girl is going to the IMAX!

Sun Nov 29, 2009, 5:08 AM
well :iconblvd-square: and i are literally days away from finishing Lighthouse Girl, and it couldn't come at a better time because December 5th it will be premiering at the 2D or not 2D animation festival in Seattle at the Eames IMAX theater! we are so excited to get this once in a lifetime chance to see our work on the big (and i mean big) screen, and if you are local please come and join us! all ticket sales go towards starting an animation studio here in western washington!

if you can't join us, we are already planning the online live event. and we hope to send it to more festivals around the country, and maybe even the world?!?!

now if you'll excuse me... it's crunch time.

live event question

i have an idea for a live event i want to ask you guys about. i thought it would be fun to release mine and jenna's new cartoon online in a live streaming video with chat, like livestream for example. i have some questions for you guys about the best way for me to go about this:

1. what's the best day for you to tune in? what time?

2. what timezone in the world do you live in?

3. would it be better to know about it way ahead of time, or maybe a day before/day of?

if we do this, we'd probably have it happen 3 times in a day, to cover all the different convenient time frames depending on where you live. hopefully we can do this in december! i think it would be fun. :D

daily deviation!

this week i was surprised by robot repair service getting a DD. this is my 3rd DD, the first being gum, an old cartoon, and the second was down. thanks to :iconelicoronel16: for suggesting and :icongucken: for featuring. it's been a while since i painted anything and i miss it. like i've said before i won't really have time for it until december.

that being said, it is november now. this is the home stretch for the Lighthouse Girl cartoon. some music is already done and it sounds amazing. i think i'm just gonna lay low until it's done. december 5th is the goal. i can't wait to show it to you guys. also i hope you all had a fun halloween.

someday soon..

once again i find myself totally bogged down in work - and i thought i'd have more freetime once i got out of school :D. so this is another "hey i'm not dead" journal , but i do have some good news. lighthouse girl has a pretty solid release date, at least locally. and that day is december 5th, where i hope it will be part of a festival. i'll have more information as time goes by, and wherever it does go i'll be sure to let you guys know so you can get a chance to see it on the silver screen if you want.

as far as an online release, it will probably be a few days after that. and then i can finally say it's done done DONE. and i look forward to that.. we've been making this since february and the anxiety is starting to kick in.

i mean i've been so busy i haven't even written an interesting journal for months besides these boring updates. then again, nothing in particular has caught my eye recently.

anyway, thanks to anyone who actually reads these. as a reward for your patronage , i give you two free album downloads here, by my talented friends REDM and Wasim. also, the Heroes Vs Villains contest is over and one lucky person walked away with 65 buckaroonies. the next contest has already started and the theme is anything halloween. the prize is already $45 and the due date is the night of halloween. i always like to see new work come in, hope to see you there. :D

thank you!

thanks to all the musicians who submitted in the Lighthouse Music Contest. it was so hard to pick and we loved all of the samples we got. it took a few days for us to make our final decision. in the end we picked winterwind-NS, and we look forward to working with him. check out his music, it's great!

on a related note, the Lighthouse Girl cartoon is getting its first working cut today. it tops out at 4 minutes and 3 seconds of pure animation. music, sfx and some tweaks here and there, and we are DONE. i dunno how long that's gonna take, but all i know is that the hardest part is over! that would be the animation of course :)
